Our Purpose
The purpose of Parulekar Sir Educational Foundation (PSEF ) is to pursue, practice, and promote the values and methods followed by Shri V.D. Parulekar Sir over four decades of his teaching and guiding activities in and around Vasai, for the benefit of students, teachers, and others interested.
Our Mission
Our mission is to institutionalize Shri Parulekar Sir’s principles by supporting educational initiatives, career guidance, mentorship programs, and cultural activities that reflect Sir’s philosophy of total development of students in Vasai-Virar region
About Logo
Learning from a teacher is important, but real learning comes through स्वाध्याय (self-study), leading to true संवर्धनम् (growth). The oil lamp and the flames at the centre of the logo indicate the enlightenment gained through study; the two sets of flames around the central lamp signify how sir’s students and their formal or informal students continue to enkindle minds across generations.
HOW PSEF WAS FORMED?
- Many of us, former students of Shri V. D. Parulekar Sir, believe that what we learned from him went far beyond textbooks. His values, ethics, and dedication left a lasting impression across four generations of Vasai residents.
- The students and people involved in the foundation have already been conducting various activities fitting Sir’s ways for over 15 years. PSEF will only help make this institutionalized.
- To honor his extraordinary life and to continue his work in shaping good human beings, finally in 2024 Shri Parulekar Sir Educational Foundation (PSEF) was founded.
ABOUT PARULEKAR SIR
Shri Parulekar Sir (Shri Vasant Dattatray Parulekar) was a legendary teacher, who spent major part of his life in Vasai gaon, district Palghar (earlier Thane). Parulekar Sir, taught students first in New English School, Vasai and later offered coaching / tuition to students. Not only did his students show exemplary performance in academics, he made them good human beings out of four generations of Vasikars.

Both his students, parents and residents at large remember him for his contribution and some of them came together to form a trust named as Shri Parulekar Sir Educational Foundation (PSEF) to initiate and continue activities in his memory, in order to promote Sir’s Values, Principles, Practices, educational methods and principles of life which he followed so meticulously.

सरांच्या आठवणी त्यांचे विद्यार्थी, विद्यार्थिनी, पालक आणि इत्तर संपर्कांतील लोकांच्या मनात खोलवर रुतल्या आहेत.
ह्यातील काही आठवणी इथे सांगितल्या आहेत. अशा कित्येक मुलं मुलांच्या आठवणींचं एक पुस्तक २००५ साली सौ दीपाराणी सहस्रबुद्धे यांनी प्रकाशित केलं होतं. त्या पुस्तकातल्या आठवणींना इथे लिंक दिलेली आहे.
