ABOUT PSEF INITIATIVES

Shri Parulekar Sir Educational Foundation (PSEF) aims to further the values and methods of Shri V D Parulekar Sir. The first Shri Parulekar Sir Memorial Lecture was organised in Vasai on 1st May 2025. The subject was “AI in Education – challenges & opportunities”, delivered by the eminent AI Expert Shri Chinmay Gavankar. 2. Anandvan Vachnalaya Project at Varora

‘Shri Parulekar Sir Smruti Anandvan Vachanalaya’ was started in memory of Shri V.D. Parulekar Sir, who deeply respected the work of Bharatratna Shri Baba Amte and the Maharogi Seva Samiti (MSS), continued by Dr. Vikas and Dr. Prakash Amte.

On Sir’s first memorial day, Dr. Kanekar, Lawrence, Hemant, and others contributed approximately ₹1.5 lakh to set up the infrastructure and running expenses of the library at Anandvan Varora in 2011, with the support of Dr. Vikas Amte.

Even before PSEF was formally established, this initiative had already been supported by Shri Parulekar Sir’s students. Alumni have consistently donated funds for library maintenance, staff salaries, and new books.

These donors receive 80B certificates under Income Tax regulations. In the year 2024–25, seven GuruBandhu-Bhaginis (PSEF members) contributed a total of ₹79,001 towards the library.

PSEF members have affirmed that continued support to Anandvan Vachanalaya will remain a top priority.

Until PSEF receives its certificate for IT exemption, direct donations will continue. Once the exemption is approved, PSEF will route future support through Charity Funds officially.

Anandvan Library currently includes:

  • Books

  • Library Space

  • Computers

  • Efficient Staff

4. Handwriting Competition at Vasai Kala Krida

The Annual Handwriting Competition is held every year in December as part of the broader Vasai Kala Krida Mahotsav. It is a celebration of cultural and academic excellence, with a focus on promoting the art and discipline of good handwriting among students.

Shri Parulekar Sir Educational Foundation (PSEF) actively supports the event, showcasing its commitment to nurturing students’ skills and participation in local educational and cultural activities. We provide financial support to the event and also takes part in the execution by providing prizes to the winners.

The main goal of the competition is to encourage clarity, neatness, and discipline in handwriting among students. It also strengthens community ties and fosters a tradition of educational excellence in the region. PSEF’s ongoing support highlights its dedication to grassroots-level engagement and student development.

Career Guidance Sessions are one of the key educational initiatives by the Shri Parulekar Sir Educational Foundation (PSEF). The aim is to offer students clear, practical information about various career options and pathways, enabling them to make informed decisions about their futures.

PSEF has already conducted two career guidance lectures, reaching over 200 students. These sessions introduced students to diverse career fields and helped broaden their awareness. The lectures were well-received, reinforcing the need for structured career support.

PSEF is planning more detailed mentoring sessions to offer deeper guidance and one-on-one support. A dedicated career guidance website is also in development, where students will be able to explore careers, ask questions, and access expert resources.
